Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 30, 2026
1. Scope
This policy applies when you use the Yardovo app, website, and services (the "Platform"). "Yardovo," "we," and "us" refer to Yardovo.
2. Information we collect
You give us:
- Account info: name, email, phone number, country, and your role (Property Owner or Contractor).
- Property & job info: property addresses, the map areas you outline, service type, and job details.
- Contractor verification info: business name, business license/registration number, workers' compensation (WCB) number, insurance provider and expiry, and documents you upload (such as an insurance certificate, photo ID, and work photos).
- Communications: messages, ratings, reviews, and support requests.
Collected automatically: app interactions, approximate location derived from addresses you enter, browser/device type, log data, and information stored on your device (for example, your signed-in account ID) so the app works.
From third parties: our payment processor (Stripe) provides confirmation of payment-method status, payouts, and identity-verification results; our maps provider (Google Maps) provides map and address/autocomplete data. We do not receive or store full card numbers.
3. How we use information
- To create and manage accounts and verify Contractors.
- To show jobs to relevant Contractors and bids to relevant Property Owners, and to enable the marketplace.
- To process subscriptions, service fees, and payouts (via Stripe).
- To measure property areas and generate reference prices.
- To operate ratings, prevent fraud, enforce our Terms, and keep the Platform safe.
- To provide support and send service-related messages, and — where permitted — updates you can opt out of.
4. How we share information
- Between users to enable jobs: Property Owners and Contractors see the information needed to transact — for example, Contractors see job location, mapped areas, and service details; Property Owners see a Contractor's business name, rating, bid, and verification status.
- Service providers: payment processing (Stripe), maps (Google), hosting and database providers, and similar vendors who process data on our behalf.
- Legal and safety: when required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of users or the public.
- Business transfers: if Yardovo is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Third-party services
Your use of payments is also subject to Stripe's privacy policy, and mapping features to Google Maps' terms and privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.
6. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform, comply with legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can ask us to delete your account (see "Your rights").
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections and access controls, and we rely on Stripe for payment security. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, update, or delete your personal information, and to withdraw consent. Canadian users have rights under PIPEDA and applicable provincial laws. To make a request, contact privacy@yardovo.com. You can also close your account, though some data may be retained as described above.
9. Cookies and on-device storage
The website and app may use cookies and local/device storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser; disabling some may affect how the Platform works.
10. Children
Yardovo is not intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
11. International users
We are based in Canada. If you use the Platform from another country, your information may be processed in Canada, the United States (e.g., by Stripe or Google), or other countries with different data-protection laws.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We'll post the new version with an updated effective date and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice.
